Keep the Green Belt green
West of Ashgrove Road is clearly Green Belt and forms a natural boundary separating the urban area from the countryside.
If allowed to be built on there would be Issues with landscape and visual aspects of the AONB and destruction of natural biodiversity (including protected species).

Road Condition
Ashgrove Road is a narrow sunken lane prone to field water run-off and blocked gullies

Traffic Congestion
Hazardous and dangerous with heavy traffic congestion
VIEW TRAFFIC ISSUES

Pedestrian Safety
Road use and pedestrian safety is compromised as there are no pavements or streetlamps

Lack of Amenities
Lacking in amenities with schools, buses and medical facilities over-subscribed
Biodiversity
ANCIENT WOODLANDS. HABITATS.
Over 50% of the Ashgrove area is occupied by Green Belt and falls within the Kent Downs Area of Natural Beauty.

Protected wildlife species
The area hosts protected wildlife species (Bats, Great Crested Newts, Badgers and Hazel Dormouse) and the Hedgerow is 5-9m high with multiple trees over sixty years old.
