Ashgrove Road
We are pleased to report that Sevenoaks District Council have refused the latest application by Mr Cullen purportedly to instal an agricultural gate on Ashgrove Road without planning permission. He has 8 weeks to appeal against that decision. Our objection was supported by Sevenoaks Town Council and the Sevenoaks Society, which was really helpful.
While this is good news, as the case officer reached the same conclusion as the Planning Inspector in 2006 that there was insufficient evidence of agricultural activity, it does not prevent him from either starting a farming business on the part of the field that he owns, with his siblings, or at least purporting to do so and making another application. Hence the need for vigilance and ensuing we are apprised if someone spots something happening in the field.
Longspring Wood
Sevenoaks Town Council are making good progress with the crowd funding initiative. As of Friday evening, just over circa £20k has been pledged. However, this is well short of the target of £100k. There is still time to support this worthy cause, with the closure date being next Friday 23 February. It really is a case of ‘every little helps’. If you can support this initiative, please do.
